.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Friday night)
Issued at 1241 PM CDT Thu Oct 2 2025

Sunny skies are in store for the rest of today with highs
potentially reaching the upper 80s across the Hill Country to mid
90s over the Coastal Plains. Light and variable winds are forecast
to dominate the local area through this evening. Later tonight
through the overnight period, increased low level moisture is
forecast to develop across some parts of the local area for partly
cloudy skies. Overnight lows are forecast to range from the lower
60s to lower 90s areawide. Clouds are forecast to dissipate mid to
late Friday morning for mostly sunny to sunny skies. Friday's highs
are forecast to reach the mid 80s to mid 90s areawide. During the
mid to late afternoon, increased moisture arriving from the northern
Gulf into the Texas coast, could combine with the seabreeze to
generate isolated shower activity across the Coastal Plains and
nearby areas. Overall, quiet weather across most of the local area as
the subtropical ridge stays in control.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday through next Thursday)
Issued at 1241 PM CDT Thu Oct 2 2025

Saturday's weather is forecast to be warm with highs in the mid
80s to mid 90s with slight chances of rain across the Coastal
Plains in the afternoon. Partly cloudy skies dominate for most of
the period.

Similar to Saturday, the early morning hours of Sunday are forecast
to produce scattered to broken low level cloud coverage over a good
portion of the local area. Clouds are anticipated to lift but
keeping the partly cloudy skies across most of the local area as
moisture slightly increases and provides enough instability for a
few showers across the Coastal Plains mainly during the afternoon
period.

A repeat of Sunday's weather is forecast for Monday and Tuesday with
slight chances for rain across the Coastal Plains in the afternoons
and highs in the mid 80s to mid 90s.

By Wednesday, the subtropical ridge strengthens over the local area
while the upper level low across the Gulf southern states moves to
the east and dissipates. An upper level trough is forecast to push
across the Southern Plains mid to late afternoon. At the surface, a
frontal boundary is forecast to push down over northern Texas and a
mid level trough axis extends from the mid Atlantic states to the
Texas coast. With this scenario in mind, expanded the slight chances
for rain across most areas with the exception of portions of the Rio
Grande and southern Edwards Plateau. Ridging strengthens again and
back to dry weather for the latter part of next week.

VFR conditions continue through the period. SCT cumulus around

northeasterly (mainly PM) to southeasterly (mainly AM) across the
area but remain light under 10 knots through the period. A few
showers will be possible later in the day, and will probably
warrant a prob30 for one or more of the I-35 TAF sites at some
point.
