Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
220 PM PDT Mon Sep 15 2025

.DISCUSSION...An upper level ridge building along the coast,
coupled with a thermal trough developing across the Umpqua and
Willamette Valleys, have attributed to east winds today and
Tuesday. As a result, high temperatures will be 10 degrees above
normal and reaching into the 80s on Tuesday. A trend to drier
conditions will persist through the midweek with afternoon
humidities dropping into the mid-to upper teens across higher
terrain of Central Oregon and between 30-40% across the Columbia
Basin. Breezy winds through the Gorge and Kittitas Valley Tuesday
with sustained winds 10-15 mph and gusts between 20-25 mph. Hot
and dry conditions peak Wednesday.

***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100's of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
