Otherwise, today should feature more sunshine than clouds, with high temperatures this afternoon in the upper 70s to mid 80s. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms could develop across the western half of the region later tonight. Temperatures will remain above normal through Friday. Chances for showers and thunderstorms also remain in the forecast Thursday and Friday. A few storms may become strong to severe across the western half of the region Thursday afternoon and evening. Widespread showers are likely across much of the region this weekend, especially in the western Dakotas and eastern Montana on Saturday. Slightly cooler but still near average temperatures are expected for the weekend. $$
