Through 1000 pm, scattered showers with isolated embedded thunderstorms increase in coverage and intensity across the coastal waters west of the Lower Keys, including the offshore Gulf, the Dry Tortugas, and the western Straits of Florida. This activity will move generally to the east at 10 to 15 knots. The strongest activity in the Straits of Florida south of Twenty Foot Shoal Light will produce blinding downpours reducing visibility, wind gusts 25 to 30 knots, and a occasional cloud to surface lightning strikes. $$
