Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
220 AM CDT Wed Sep 3 2025

It was a clear and cool night across the Heartland, with temperature
readings this morning in the 50s and low 60s from the Dakotas to the
Red River Valley. Areas of patchy fog were noted across portions of
Kansas early this morning, which reduced visibility to around a half
mile at times. Otherwise, conditions remained quiet as a majority of
the region saw light winds and clear skies, while showers and a few
storms made their way across the Northern Plains.

Fog is expected to dissipate later this morning and give way to
mostly clear to partly cloudy skies throughout the area. A cold
front is forecast to make its way southward through Nebraska and
into Kansas later today. Some strong to severe thunderstorms are
possible along this boundary, especially in portions of central,
eastern, and southern Kansas. Strong winds and large hail are
expected to be the primary threats. Otherwise, look for high
temperatures ranging from the 70s and 80s across the Dakotas and
Nebraska to the middle 80s and low 90s across portions of the Texas
and Oklahoma Panhandles.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms will make their way southward
into Oklahoma and Missouri throughout the evening and overnight
hours. Light north winds and partly cloudy skies are anticipated to
prevail over Middle America tonight, with low temperatures expected
to range from the middle 40s across northeast Nebraska and eastern
South Dakota to the 50s and 60s across Kansas and Oklahoma.
