AFTERNOON...

Temperatures in the lower to mid 90s combined with increasing
humidity along the inland moving sea breeze will result in a brief
period of heat indices warming to 105 to 108 degrees this afternoon.
The risk for a brief period of excessive heat will be highest
between the beaches of Charleston County and Highway 17. This
includes Awendaw, Mount Pleasant, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley,
Johns Island, James Island, Wadmalaw Island, Yonges Meggett,
Hollywood, Ravenel and Adams Run

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible
and drink plenty of water.
