...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS CANCELLED FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE INTERSTATE 27 CORRIDOR...

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has cancelled the Fire
Weather Watch. 

Winds today are not expected to be strong enough to reach Red Flag
Criteria. However, elevated fire weather conditions are still
expected and a Rangeland Fire Danger Statement will be issued to
replace the Fire Weather Watch.

FAR SOUTHWESTERN TEXAS PANHANDLE AND WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE SOUTH
PLAINS...

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. 

* Timing...From 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* Wind...Southwest at 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Humidity...As low as 12 percent.

* Fuels...Dry.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
  burning is discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
