The National Weather Service in Des Moines  has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Adams County in southwestern Iowa...
  Northern Taylor County in southwestern Iowa...

* Until 1000 PM CDT.

* At 907 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Nodaway, or 8
  miles southwest of Corning, moving east at 30 mph.

  HAZARD...Two inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
           wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Lake Icaria, Lenox, Sharpsburg, Lake Icaria State Park, Corning
  Municipal Airport, Clearfield, Prescott, Carbon, Nodaway, Corning,
  and Kent.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
office in Des Moines .

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for south
central and southwestern Iowa.
