...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CRAVEN...EASTERN
ONSLOW AND CARTERET COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM EDT...

At 506 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles west of Cedar Island to Broad Creek.
Movement was east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Morehead City, Newport, Cedar Island, Harkers Island, Swansboro, Cape
Carteret, North River, Sealevel, Marshallberg, Davis, Smyrna,
Straits, Atlantic, Pine Knoll Shores, Harlowe, Otway, Broad Creek,
Wildwood, Williston, and Peletier.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
