.DISCUSSION...
(Today through Thursday)
Issued at 316 AM CDT Fri Oct 7 2022

A cold front will move through the Mid South this morning and
provide a reinforcing shot of cool and dry air. This will
put keep day time temps in the 70s and even cooler on Saturday. We
will only make it up to the upper 60s to lower 70s on Saturday and
Sunday. There is concern for frost development early Sunday
morning for portions of northwest Tennessee due to forecasted
temperatures in the upper 30s. High pressure will remain in
control through the first half of the week. Temperatures will
moderate and climb back into the 80s. By Wednesday, southerly low
level return flow will strengthen as zonal/southwesterly flow
increases. Guidance still points to a front moving through the
Mid South next Thursday, and this will possibly bring a chance for
some rain. Hopefully this trend continues and we get that rain
next week because we certainly need it. Behind the front,
temperatures will cool and dry air will filter in by the weekend,
making for another great weekend in the Mid-South.
