Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
145 AM MDT Sun Sep 4 2022

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE
421...

.DISCUSSION...
A strong ridge of high pressure will dominate the regional weather
pattern over the next several days. A upper level low pressure
system will move across Montana and the Dakotas during the next 24
to 36 hours, which will increase the low level pressure gradients.
Breezy west to southwesterly winds combined with very low humidity
and warm temperatures will create elevated to locally critical fire
weather conditions, especially over northern Carbon County where
a Red Flag Warning has been issued from noon until 8 PM this evening.
Much above normal temperatures and dry conditions will continue
through the end of the week when cooler temperatures arrive with
the next frontal passage.
