889 AWCA82 TJSJ 060846 RWSVI VIZ001-002-060828 Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands National Weather Service San Juan PR 446 AM AST Sun Feb 6 2022 Showers continue to move across the islands and local waters through the night hours. The northern islands received the bulk of the activity, and a flood advisory was issued for St. Thomas and St. John. Since yesterday, Doppler radar estimates ranged between 1 to 2 inches for the northern islands, and less than an inch for St. Croix. These conditions are expected to prevail today, and the risk for urban flooding and mudslides will continue through the day. Improvement is in the forecast for the overnight and early morning hours on Monday. Across the local waters, it remains hazardous with seas 6 to 10 feet and winds out of the east at 15 to 20 knots. Small craft advisories are in effect through early in the workweek. Showers and thunderstorms will also continue to impact the local waters. For the beaches, a High Surf Advisory continues for St. Croix, due to breaking waves 9 to 14 feet. There is a high rip current risk for most of the local beaches. $$ This product is issued around 5 AM and 5 PM each day and weather conditions may change between issuances.
