This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD
). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
559 AWCA82 TJSJ 052111 RWSVI VIZ001-002-052105 Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands National Weather Service San Juan PR 511 PM AST Sat Feb 5 2022 The interaction between an upper-level trough and frontal boundary maintained a moist and unsettled weather pattern across the U.S. Virgin Islands. Radar Doppler detected scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms affecting the area, with rainfall accumulations ranging from a quarter to half an inch. Winds were generally from the east-northeast at 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts. Cloudy skies and extended periods of light to moderate rains kept daytime high temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. So far, King Airport in St Thomas and Rohlsen Airport in St Croix reported a high of 77 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. With the upper trough slowly meandering southward and the remnants of the front lingering over the region, the shower and thunderstorm activity will continue through the overnight and early morning hours. Additional rainfall amounts of a quarter of an inch to an inch are likely. A gradual improvement is anticipated for Sunday into Morning, but showers will continue to affect the islands at times. Winds will remain from the east- northeast at 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts. Variations in the local wind flow are possible near the shower activity. Overnight low temperatures will drop into the lower-to- mid 70s, while daytime high temperatures will reach the lower-to- mid 80s. The combination of wind-driven seas and a northerly swell spreading across the local waters will maintain hazardous seas up to 10 feet tonight into Sunday. As a result, Small Craft Advisories remain in effect for all the local islands' waters. Due to large breaking waves up to 15 feet, High Surf Advisories and High Rip Current Risk are also in effect for most local beaches. $$ This product is issued around 5 AM and 5 PM each day and weather conditions may change between issuances.
