This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
856 FXUS63 KOAX 241716 AFDOAX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Omaha/Valley NE 1116 AM CST Mon Jan 24 2022 ...Updated Aviation Forecast Discussion... .DISCUSSION... Issued at 231 AM CST Mon Jan 24 2022 Today... An arctic air mass continued to shift off to our east overnight, allowing warmer air to creep in. Temperatures across much of the area slowly rose, reaching the low to mid 40s at many locations by 2 AM. An approaching shortwave will draw colder air back into the central plains today. Highs in the low 30s will be reached early this morning across parts of northeast Nebraska western Iowa. Farther south, along the Kansas border, temperatures could approach 50, before they begin to drop early this afternoon. A light snow shower or two could creep into the forecast area with the advancing disturbance Monday morning, however little to no accumulation is expected. Monday Night through Wednesday... Cold air will continue to pour into the region Monday night and Tuesday. Overnight, lows will dip into the single digits above and below 0F, but wind chills will make it feel more like -5 to -15. Apparent temperatures for a few locations in western Iowa or far northeast Nebraska could even hit -20. Not much relief from the cold is expected Tuesday afternoon, with highs only reaching the teens and 20s. Another smattering of snowflakes may try to creep into parts of eastern Nebraska Tuesday, however the better moisture and upper level support will remain off to our west. Yet another chilly morning is anticipated for Wednesday, with wind chills dropping to -5 to -15. Thankfully, our lack of snow cover will allow temperatures to rebound nicely with the return of southwesterly flow. Highs are expected to bounce back into the 30s and 40s Wednesday afternoon. Thursday and Beyond... Cold air continues to ebb and flow over the region through late this week. Our next dry cold front will arrive Thursday, dropping highs back into the 30s. A ridge finally looks to assert itself over the western half of the CONUS Friday and into the weekend, reestablishing and maintaining above normal temperatures and dry conditions through Sunday. && .AVIATION...(For the 18Z TAFS through 18Z Tuesday afternoon) Issued at 1116 AM CST Mon Jan 24 2022 Gusty north winds will continue this afternoon before diminishing this evening into tonight. Post-frontal MVFR clouds will likely persist at KOMA for the next hour or two with prevailing VFR conditions thereafter. && .OAX WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... NE...None.
