Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
801 PM CDT Sat Nov 6 2021

.SYNOPSIS...
Issued at 256 PM CDT Sat Nov 6 2021

A warming trend will continue to send temperatures above normal
this weekend, along with mostly clear skies. The dry and warmer
weather will continue into early next week. Breezy south to
southwest winds will accompany the warmer air.

&&

.UPDATE...
Issued at 759 PM CDT Sat Nov 6 2021

Fair weather continues across central Illinois under the influence
of high pressure that stretches along the Ohio River Valley. A
light southerly gradient will help prop up temps overnight
relative to recent nights. Temps are on track for lows in the mid
30s across east central Illinois to around 40F near the Illinois
River Valley.

&&

.SHORT TERM...(This evening through Sunday)
ISSUED AT 256 PM CDT Sat Nov 6 2021

Sunny/clear skies will continue through tomorrow as the high
pressure ridge remain east of the area, keeping southwesterly
winds across the area. These winds will bring plenty of warm air
back into the area for tomorrow, with highs reaching into the
middle 60s. These warm advection winds will also bring warmer
overnight temperatures as well, falling only into the middle to
upper 30s by morning.

.LONG TERM...(Sunday night through Saturday)
ISSUED AT 256 PM CDT Sat Nov 6 2021

Warm air advection is expected to continue the first part of the
week as a cold front pushes into the area. Monday's highs are
projected to reach into the upper 80s and breezy southwest winds
push much warmer air into the area. A cold front will drop into
the area Tuesday through Tuesday night, but moisture will be quite
limited so thinking is any precip will be drizzle or widely
scattered Tue night through Wed, resulting in very low/non-
mentionable pops. The real chances of precip will return for late
Wed afternoon through the end of the week as a second cold front
and low pressure area moves in with more moisture this time.
Currently just have rain in the forecast but isolated
thunderstorms could become possible late Wed night through Thur
afternoon as the front moves in and depending on how high dwpts
get through that time period. For now will leave out thunder, but
don't be surprised if it gets added later. As the large low
pressure area associated with this system lifts to the north and
east, cyclonic flow will persist across the area the rest of the
week and into the weekend, with small chances of rain. Cloud cover
and northwest winds will also keep temps on the cooler side, with
afternoon highs only reaching the 40s for Fri and Sat.

.AVIATION...(For the 00Z TAFS through 00Z Sunday evening)
Issued at 620 PM CDT Sat Nov 6 2021

High pressure will remain anchored along the Ohio River Valley
providing a modest SSW breeze across central Illinois and VFR
conditions that will prevail through the period. Winds will pick
up Sunday afternoon, especially farther west at PIA/BMI/SPI where
gusts into the 17-20 kt range are expected.
