Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
347 PM EDT Sun Oct 17 2021

.NEAR TERM [Tonight through Monday]...High pressure building in
from the northwest will provide dry and cool weather. The pressure
gradient will begin to weaken tonight with winds dropping off
over inland areas. Below average temperatures tonight will fall
into the mid/upper 40s inland...and into the 50s near the coast
where light NNE winds will persist.

.SHORT TERM [Monday night through Wednesday night]...Surface high
pressure centered over the central Appalachians will shift off the
east coast on Wednesday. Short wave ridge aloft over the southeast
will maintain the dry weather with moderating temperatures. Daily
highs will warm back into the 80s. Lows will still be below
average Monday night...warming to above average by Wednesday
night.

.LONG TERM [Thursday Through Sunday]...Another upper trough in a
progressive flow will move to the east coast late week. This will
bring another cold front through the area on Friday with a slight
chance of showers and thunderstorms with weak lift and limited
moisture available. Above average temperatures ahead of the front
will return to average next weekend.

&&

.MARINE...Tight pressure gradient will begin to weaken tonight
allowing a decrease in winds and seas. Advisory conditions will
end this evening with Caution levels continuing overnight. Winds
and seas will be continue the downward trend through the week as
high pressure to the north weakens and moves offshore. A cold
front will push into the area on Friday.

Rip Currents: Moderate to high risk of rip currents due to strong
onshore winds and rough surf.
