427 FXUS62 KJAX 121944 AFDJAX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Jacksonville FL 344 PM EDT Tue Oct 12 2021 .NEAR TERM [Tonight through Wednesday]...Onshore flow continues with scattered coastal showers over the Florida waters propagating inland with daytime heating. Otherwise dry and warm conditions will dominate with above normal temperatures. Areas of late night/early fog expected inland. .SHORT TERM [Wednesday night through Friday Night]...Mid-upper ridge will continue to build across the area providing warm and dry conditions. Temperatures will be above normal with light winds. Daytime highs will be near 90 degrees inland. .LONG TERM [Saturday Through Tuesday]...Deep layer ridging will weaken and shift south Saturday as a weakening cold front approaches form the nw. The boundary will push se across the area Saturday night...exiting the area early Sunday morning. Moisture and upper air support will be limited so showers will be scattered with isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures ahead of the front will continue to be warm as readings reach near 90 degrees on Saturday. Highs Sunday through Tuesday will be cooler with highs in the upper 70s/lower 80s. A northeast flow will prevail behind the front as surface high pressure builds into the mid- Atlantic states. This pattern will bring coastal showers back to northeast Florida early next week. && .MARINE...Large surface high pressure to the north will weaken and shift south into the area the next few days. Northeast winds and seas will gradually decrease through the week. Scattered showers will continue over mainly the northeast Florida waters through midweek. A cold front will approach the waters this weekend...pushing across the area Saturday night bringing a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms.
