.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 142 PM CDT Mon Sep 6 2021

Warm and dry highlights the forecast this week.

A surface trough, currently over the western Dakotas, will swing
southeastward and be on our doorstep by late morning tomorrow. As
the trough passes, it will do little more than bring some mid/high
clouds and a wind shift out of the north. Boundary-layer moisture
will be quite limited and forecast soundings indicate the
presence of a cap, thus the threat of precipition is quite
limited. Cool, dry air will filter in behind the front. Dewpoints
Wednesday will likely only rise to the low 50s. We'll maintain a
mild and dry pattern through the rest of the work week. We will
enter a more active pattern by the weekend as several mid/upper-
level waves ride of the ridge to the west and dive into the
central Plains. However, moisture appears to remain limited
through this time-period. Therefore, precipitation chances remain
low at best through the next seven days.

.AVIATION...(For the 00Z TAFS through 00Z Tuesday evening)
Issued at 617 PM CDT Mon Sep 6 2021

Expect VFR conditions at all terminals through the next 24 hours.
Late this evening the low-level jet at around 1200 feet will
increase to 40 KTS and will result in low-level windshear across
the terminals from 6Z through 14Z. A weak cold front will shift
south-southwest winds to the northwest after 17Z.
