This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD
). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
783 FXUS64 KMEG 242020 AFDMEG Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Memphis TN 320 PM CDT Sat Jul 24 2021 .DISCUSSION... A HOT afternoon for the Mid-South with current temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90. Scattered storms can be seen on radar with lightning as the main threat. Expect heavy downpours as well inside thunderstorms. Expect showers to diminish by this evening. Patchy fog is expected again late tonight, still some areas of haze in place. Really just a rinse and repeat of today and yesterday. Tonight lows will be in the mid to upper 70s. As for tomorrow, temperatures will be the main concern. Highs will be low 90s but heat indices could approach 107. Thus a Heat Advisory will be in effect tomorrow afternoon. Through the extended forecast high pressure over the Plains will begin to build and strengthen. In conjunction a ridge will extend to our east. This will continue our summertime pattern. Convection should be limited throughout the week with the potential for a stray shower or two. Any development will be short lived. As for temperatures, expect a slow warming trend with humidity levels rising. Highs will begin to approach the upper 90s by the end of the week, looks like mid 90s for the most part. The warmest days will be Wednesday and Thursday with that strengthening ridge. Thursday and Friday have the potential to be some of the hottest days of the year. Stay tuned. SWB && .AVIATION... 18Z TAFs Similar to the past several days, agitated cumulus had developed by 17Z. GOES Daytime Microphysics imagery showed cloud top ice and developing lightning potential in a few isolated towering cumulus over northeast MS. Proximity to TUP was sufficient to warrant a VCTS mention. Outside of north MS, deep convection less organized and persistent, under ridging aloft. PWB && .MEG WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
