This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD
). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
025 FXUS62 KJAX 061855 AFDJAX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Jacksonville FL 255 PM EDT Tue Apr 6 2021 .Short Term.../through Friday/... Surface high pressure ridge will stretch across region from center to the southeast through Thursday. This surface high will build more toward the east northeast Friday. In addition to being under the surface ridge, the region will also be under a 500mb high through Wednesday night as well. With ridging at the surface and aloft, dry weather and mainly clear skies to continue through Wednesday night. Once the upper ridge shifts to the east Thursday, upper energy will move into region. This energy, coupled with diurnal heating could produce a few showers/storms over inland counties Thursday afternoon and night. With the surface ridge moving further away Friday, and stronger upper energy moving through, anticipate an increase in convective coverage, especially in the afternoon due to addition of diurnal heating. A few strong to severe storms will be possible. Temperatures will trend above normal this period. The east coast sea breeze will push inland each afternoon, but its push will be limited by southwest flow. && .Long Term.../Friday night through Tuesday/... Surface high pressure will remain to the east through Saturday, as a cold front approaches from the west. A prefrontal trough is expected to pass through Saturday afternoon. The cold front itself is expected to be stalled to the northwest of forecast area Saturday night, then move southeast across area Sunday into Sunday night. The region will be in the base of an upper trough through Sunday night, with waves moving east through the flow. Weak surface ridging will build Sunday night into Monday, with another cold front affecting the area Tuesday. Precipitation chances will be greatest Friday night through Saturday across inland counties closer to the frontal zone, while coverage chances will be more uniform Saturday night and Sunday. The potential will exist for strong to severe storms over the weekend. Temperatures will continue above normal this period. && .Marine... A high pressure ridge stretching from a center to the southeast will be in place through Thursday. The high will be more to the east Thursday night through Friday night. A series of troughs and fronts will affect the region over the weekend into early next week. Rip Currents: SE GA Low through Wednesday NE FL Low through Wednesday && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
