This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD
). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
032 FXUS62 KKEY 040236 AFDKEY Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Key West FL 1036 PM EDT Sat Apr 3 2021 .DISCUSSION... Currently - A strong high pressure system is centered over the southeastern United States resulting in fresh to strong northeast breezes across the Keys and surrounding waters. This evenings sounding indicated a strong inversion around 825 mb with a fairly well mixed boundary layer. The depth of the boundary layer along with the fast flow has allowed for an expansive deck of stratocumulus to work its way across our area. There are a patches of embedded very weak showers that have thus far remained almost entirely over the Florida Straits. Short Term Update - The previously mentioned high will slip a bit further southeastwards and weaken a little. Winds will weaken slightly and veer a little, but remain windy and northeasterly. Guidance suggests the inversion may lift to around 800 mb with some increase in sub inversion moisture. This should be plenty to maintain the expansive sheet of stratocumulus moving in. This will also be responsible for a slight increase in weak shower coverage. Expect overnight lows to be in the mid 60s with dew points lingering in the mid to upper 50s. No update to the local forecast is planned. && .MARINE... A strong high pressure system centered over the southeastern United States will shift slightly southeastward and weaken overnight. Only a slight downtrend is expected in northeasterly breezes. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for all Keys waters. Virtually no changes made in the evening marine update. && .AVIATION... VFR conditions expected at the island terminals. There will be a slight chance for periods of MVFR conditions due to weak passing showers late in the overnight. Winds will remain broadly near 15 knots with gusts of 20 to 25 knot range. With that said, a slight downward trend is expected. && .KEY WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... FL...None.
