.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Friday...High pressure ridge aloft will
be over Colorado tonight and then flatten some on Friday as a weak
disturbance moves across the state. Expect increasing westerly
winds over the mountains and east slopes later tonight and Friday
morning with gusts up to 45 mph. Expect elevated fire danger on
Friday afternoon over the the plains of far northern Colorado with
lowering humidities and gusty northwesterly winds.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday night through Tuesday...Flat upper
ridging is in place for the forecast area into Monday. The air
mass will be dry and minimum relative humidity values will drop
into the teens during the afternoon hours Saturday through
Monday. Temperatures will be above seasonal normals through Monday.
On Tuesday, a weak upper trough is expected with an increase in
moisture along with cooler temperatures, higher humidities and
a chance of showers, mainly in the mountains.
