.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...An upper level disturbance will
move across Colorado today with snow and gusty winds in the
mountains. Across the plains, expect west and northwest winds to
increase this afternoon with gusts of 30 to 50 mph possible.
Expect good smoke dispersal in most areas this afternoon with the
strong winds with the system. The winds will gradually decrease
overnight tonight. There is a chance of rain and snow showers over
the far northeast plains by evening with possible accumulations
up to an inch of snow.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Wednesday through Saturday... The long
term period will have a couple chances for light precipitation.
The first being in the mountains late Thursday into Thursday
night. The second will be more widespread across the area on
Saturday. Neither system is expected to bring more than two inches
of snow to the areas mentioned. Otherwise, winds will generally
be on the lighter side with temperatures around normal. Fire
danger will be on the lower side throughout the long term period.
