.NEAR TERM /Now Through Tuesday/...Very weak upper and mid-level
ridging begins to build in over the region through the near term
with a mainly southwesterly flow aloft existing above 500mb. In
the lower levels, moderate cold air advection takes over in the
wake of the frontal passage with a more northerly flow being
dominant. Additionally, low-level moisture is still in place
helping to keep a low-level stratus cloud deck across much the
region due to no sufficient mixing or large scale subsidence
occurring to impede the cloud deck from eroding. Visible satellite
imagery shows this cloud deck persisting across the region with
some clearing near the immediate coast. At the surface, ridging
builds into the region from the north through Tuesday. A mostly
northerly to northeasterly flow will continue through Tuesday
morning. High temps today are expected to range from the upper 40s
to mid 50s northwest of I-65, with mid 50s to low 60s southeast.
The persistent low level cloud deck will help to moderate temps
across the region today. Clouds are expected to somewhat clear
overnight mainly over the eastern region of the CWA. This could
impact low temps across the region being slightly warmer than
expected in some areas. That being said, low temps tonight are
expected to be in the low to upper 30s northwest of I-65 and upper
30s to low 40s southeast.

An upper level system begins to traverse the plains through Tuesday
reaching the central Plains by Tuesday evening. In the lower levels,
a gradual shift to flow being more southwesterly will bring
increasing Gulf moisture into the region through Tuesday as the
upper level system approaches from the west. At the surface, a
gradual shift in flow from northeasterly to southeasterly will begin
to take place as surface low advances towards the region through
Tuesday. High temps on Tuesday are expected to be in the mid 50s to
low 60s across the region. JEH/88

.AVIATION...
18Z issuance...Mixed MVFR/VFR conditions are expected across the
region through the TAF cycle as a persistent low level stratus
deck remains in place. MVFR remains prevailing at BFM and MOB
through tonight and VFR prevailing at PNS. All TAF sites are
expected to be MVFR by late tonight and into Tuesday morning.
Winds will be mainly northwesterly around 10-15kts with higher
gusts possible through the early TAF cycle. A gradual shift to
more northeasterly will take place into Tuesday morning with winds
decreasing to between 5-10kts. JEH/88
