.DISCUSSION...
High pressure at sfc extends from the eastern great lakes south 
down into deep south Texas. Temperatures range from the 40s from 
the Dakota's into the New England states while the central US is 
reporting 60s with our region remaining around 70 degrees. The 
radar remains clear with the nearest rains are over the Carolina's
where a surface low is getting block by the ridge to the north.

The sounding from last night indicating CAPE's around 1500 j/kg... 
precip wtr at 1.46 inches and LI's around -4. Not overly impressive
but enough to give us some storms.

For today the surface ridge will allow moisture to move out of the 
gulf and into Texas and southern Louisiana... when combined with 
daytime heating and a weakness aloft at the base of the ridge this
should be enough to give us a chance for some showers and thunderstorms
in southeast Texas with isolated showers and thunderstorms for 
southern Louisiana. Heat indices will be the real issue today as
they are expected to climb back into the low to mid 90s... those 
individuals outside today should remain well hydrated and drink 
plenty of fluids. 

Overall the surface low along the Carolina coast will remain
through Thursday before finally getting pulled west as the ridge
to the north lifts to the northeast. This is all going to take a
bit of time to develop. Therefore... looking at rain chances
dropping on Wednesday and remaining low for the rest of the week.
Rains return on Sunday into Monday as a low over west Texas and 
the ridge to the east off of Apalachicola Fl funnels deep tropical
air across the northwest gulf region.

Winds and seas to moderate through the period. The tropic's remain
quiet.
