Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tulsa OK

.DISCUSSION...

There are no major concerns in the forecast today, with largely
inconsequential weather expected over the next 7 days.

We'll eventually lose the low clouds as the upper low that brought
the snow this morning to NE OK/NW AR moves away. Some high clouds
will be spreading in however, so at least partly cloudy skies will
prevail tonight into Saturday. Clouds will continue to increase on
Saturday ahead of the next system. Warm advection in association
with a progressive shortwave trough sliding across the region will
bring showers and possibly some isolated storms, with the best
chances along and south of I-40, Saturday night into Sunday
morning. Skies should begin to clear out by Sunday afternoon,
allowing temps to climb above average. Monday will probably be
the warmest day of the week in between systems. Another
progressive wave will bring rain and isolated thunder chances
Tuesday. Clouds and rain will keep temps down near or slightly
below average. Looks like yet another progressive wave will cross
the central part of the country during the latter half of the
week, but trends suggest the bulk of the moisture and energy will
stay to our south.
