This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD
). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
290 FXUS63 KLSX 251738 AFDLSX Area Forecast Discussion...Updated Aviation National Weather Service Saint Louis MO 1238 PM CDT Thu Jul 25 2019 .SHORT TERM... (Through Late This Afternoon) Issued at 214 AM CDT Thu Jul 25 2019 A surface ridge axis will continue shifting eastward today, allowing winds to take on more of a southerly component across the LSX CWA. The combination of light southerly winds and gradual air mass modification will produce high temperatures which are a few degrees warmer than yesterday. The expected highs in the low/mid 80s are still near or slightly below normal for this time of year across most of the area. Although isolated rain showers cannot be entirely ruled out today along the northwestern periphery of the surface ridge, conditions appear less favorable for SHRA today than they did yesterday. Given the extremely low coverage of SHRA noted yesterday, PoPs were kept below mentionable levels for today's forecast. Kanofsky .LONG TERM... (Tonight through Wednesday) Issued at 214 AM CDT Thu Jul 25 2019 As the surface high pressure center continues shifting eastward, the LSX CWA will be located on the back side of the departing surface high and ahead of a weak cold front developing across the central CONUS. The resulting southwesterly winds between these features will continue to bring a warmer and more humid air mass back into the region. The combination of southwesterly winds at the surface and modest height rises aloft will keep the gradual warming trend going through the weekend, and highs should reach the upper 80s to lower 90s by Sunday. By early next week, a PV anomaly moving from the northern CONUS towards the Great Lakes will push a weak cold front through the region. This will bring scattered SHRA/TSRA to the area from Sunday night through Tuesday morning. Clouds and precipitation will likely suppress high temperatures by a few degrees until the front has moved through. Kanofsky && .AVIATION... (For the 18z TAFs through 18z Friday Afternoon) Issued at 1237 PM CDT Thu Jul 25 2019 VFR flight conditions are expected through the entire forecast period. There is still a chance of very isolated showers this afternoon, but kept vicinity shower mention out of TAFs. Otherwise, light south to southwest winds expected.
