Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
355 AM MDT Wed Jul 17 2019

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Expect a warmer, drier and
breezy day today over most of the area, except the far
northeastern corner. Isolated storms will likely only occur
southeast of I76. Humidity will be in the low teens over the
urban corridor and in the low to mid teens in the high country
and foothills. Winds across the northern half of the area will be
gusty this afternoon and may elevate fire weather concerns,
especially over the northern foothills and adjacent plains. But
fuel moisture may lessen the danger. Dispersion will be excellent
everywhere except the far northeastern plains where a weak cool
front will push in today, keeping dispersion poor.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday through Sunday...The high pressure
ridge aloft will remain across the southern plains states through
Friday with a moderate westerly flow aloft over Colorado. The
airmass will be quite dry and very warm with elevated fire danger,
especially over the mountains and foothills. Some cooling is
expected by late Saturday and Sunday as a cold front moves
through late Saturday with a better chance for afternoon and
evening showers and thunderstorms through Sunday.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
