622 PM CDT Wed Jun 26 2019

.SHORT TERM...(Tonight through Saturday)
Issued at 348 PM CDT Wed Jun 26 2019

A mid/upper level ridge of high pressure continues to build over the
central CONUS and is forecast to remain in place through Thursday.
A weak shortwave currently over central Colorado is forecast to
ride atop the ridge tonight into Thursday producing convection
across the High Plains tonight and developing this into an MCS
across much of Nebraska overnight and into Iowa by morning. As a
result, have increased pops across the region overnight with
lingering activity in our eastern counties Thursday morning. This
activity should move out of our area by noon or so Thursday.

.LONG TERM...(Saturday night through Wednesday)
Issued at 348 PM CDT Wed Jun 26 2019

Hottest airmass of the season thus far will be moving in
this weekend. Highs will remain in the 90s with dewpoints
forecast in the upper 60s to low 70s, pushing afternoon heat
indicies into the low 100s. This large ridge of high pressure will
help to maintain mostly dry weather through the extended with a
few showers and storms possible across northern portions of the
forecast area, as disturbances ripple through the upper flow.
