.NOW...Showers and thunderstorms continue to move rapidly across
central and western Puerto Rico at around 18 mph. Periods of locally
heavy rains and strong gusty winds will accompany these showers
and thunderstorms. This will result ponding of water on roadways
and in poor drainage areas, as well as hazardous driving
conditions with reduced visibilities. Although most of eastern
Puerto Rico has become rain-free, there is a line of showers from
Fajardo to Rio Grande that will continue in the flow for at least
another hour. Showers that moved through Ponce are moving toward
Yauco, and heavy showers in Ponce or east are not expected before
4 PM AST. Showers over western Puerto Rico are moving into the
Mona Channel, where some lighting strikes are also being seen.
