Bulk Download Help
This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
399 FXUS64 KLUB 090852 AFDLUB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Lubbock TX 352 AM CDT Tue Apr 9 2019 .DISCUSSION... Today will be relatively quiet as upper ridging dominates the region. Surface winds will be on the breezy side as lee troughing develops across WY/CO. The upper ridge along with surface thermal ridging/thickness increases will help highs to reach into the upper 80s/low 90s this afternoon. Tomorrow is still slated to be a very windy day as an upper low currently moving into the Pacific Northwest approaches the FA. The combination of a 50-60kt H700 jet, strong surface pressure gradient, and good mixing profiles should allow for sustained surface winds easily in the 40+mph range across much of the FA. The strongest winds are expected to be across our northern zones which are closer to the surface and upper low. Fire weather conditions will also be in the critical to extreme range as min RH values will be mostly in the single digits. A cold front will follow late Wednesday/early Thursday as the upper and surface low push off to the east. Winds will initially be on the breezy side as the cold front pushes through, but they will then decrease through the afternoon and evening. Highs on Thursday and Friday will be well below average for this time of year, upper 50s/low 60s. A chance also exists for a light frost and/or light freeze across much of the Caprock Thursday night/Friday morning. Freezing temps would most likely occur across our extreme northwestern zones. The next system of interest will affect the FA this weekend. Details are still being worked out, but the next upper low looks to bring widespread precip to the region. As of now the precipitation looks to be in the form of rain showers, however the possibility does exists for some wintry precip across across our northern zones. Temperatures looks to be even cooler on Saturday as the system moves through with highs dipping into the upper 40s/mid 50s. && .LUB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
