Low pressure situated off the Carolina coastline will accelerate north-northeastward while rapidly strengthening overnight. Meanwhile, high pressure centered over the lower Mississippi Valley this afternoon will build eastward into our region tonight, reaching the Carolina coast by Wednesday afternoon. Low pressure will emerge from the Desert Southwest on Wednesday afternoon and will progress eastward across the Red River Valley on Thursday as high pressure strengthens off the Carolina coast. This weather pattern will result in onshore winds through early Friday, with prevailing southerly winds by Friday afternoon and Saturday as weak low pressure moves northeastward across the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys. Showers and a few thunderstorms are expected by late Friday in advance of a front that will stall to our northwest this weekend. .GULF STREAM...
