Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
507 PM CDT Fri Mar 22 2019

Just an excellent early spring afternoon across the state with hardly
a cloud in the sky, light winds, and temperatures in the 50s. Things
begin to change overnight as our next chance for rain starts to move
in from the west. Rainfall is expected to begin in southwest Iowa
overnight, then spread north and east across the state during the
morning and afternoon tomorrow. Chances for rain continue into Sunday,
but temperatures remain mild through the weekend as highs hang around
in the upper 40s to mid 50s. Rainfall amounts will be in the quarter
to half inch range for the most part, but some locally higher amounts
are possible.

Cooler temperatures in the low to mid 40s expected Monday as the
weekend system departs the area. A steady warming trend begins
Tuesday, which could send our highs in the 60s by Thursday and
Friday. More rainfall is likely over the latter half of the week as
another low pressure system slowly crosses the Plains state. This will
bring the potential for showers and thunderstorms to the state as we
close out the month of March.
