This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD
). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
577 FXUS64 KAMA 030902 AFDAMA Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Amarillo TX 302 AM CST Sun Mar 3 2019 .DISCUSSION... The remainder of the bulk of the frozen precipitation associated with the upper level trough is quickly moving across the eastern Panhandles and should exit the region later this morning. In the wake of the system and the cold front and the rapidly rising heights is the arctic airmass where temperatures will start this morning in the upper single digits and lower teens with some very low wind chills below zero, especially across the northern Panhandles. Low clouds will continue to linger with patchy freezing fog and freezing drizzle possible through the morning hours. Latest hi-res model profiles shows the low ceilings slowly starting to diminish as we go into the afternoon hours but cloud cover will continue throughout the day. With that said, the cold air will be locked in place today with high temperatures that will struggle to get out of the teens up north to lower and mid 20s for the rest of the region. Temperatures tonight into early Monday morning maybe our coldest of the season with lows getting down to a few degrees above zero. As we go through the coming week, temperatures will slowly moderate. As a dichotomy of airmass sets up across the northwestern Panhandles near the front range, a weak vort max along a surface convergence boundary may generate some additional snow showers across the far northern Panhandles Monday into Tuesday morning with very little snowfall accumulations possible. Overall though, tranquil weather conditions are expected most of the week. Temperatures will start with highs in the 20s and winds will veer to southwesterly by Thursday with highs in the 60s and 70s with some areas in the SW Texas Panhandle may get to near 80 degrees. Another disturbance might make its way into the Panhandle by the start of next weekend with some showers, but it is almost a week out with low model agreement at this time. Temperatures will be above average going towards the end of the forecast period. Meccariello && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
