Overcast skies and unseasonably cold temperatures remained across the area this afternoon. Temperatures around the area at 3 PM, ranged from 19 degrees at Champaign, to 35 degrees at Mount Carmel. High pressure across the Midwest is sliding east, allowing for an unsettled weather pattern to move in for the rest of the week. A week upper level storm system in the Northern Plains this afternoon, will move through the Great Lakes spreading patchy freezing drizzle across the northern half of Illinois and northern Indiana overnight and early Tuesday morning. The next winter storm comes through Wednesday night, through Thursday morning. Then a more significant winter storm arrives Friday night. Low temperatures overnight, will be in the 20s across most of the Midwest.. Highs on Tuesday, will range from the lower 30s across northeast Indiana, to the middle 40s across southern Missouri. $$ EJL
