.DISCUSSION...

An upper level storm system across the rockies will move onto the
plains overnight. As this occurs a cold front will move through 
the forecast area. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible 
this evening across the northern Permian Basin along the cold 
front, closest to the path of the departing cold upper level system.
Behind this front large, cool surface high pressure will build 
south into the region later tonight, through this weekend and 
Monday offering below normal temperatures with no precipitation 
expected.

Beyond Monday through the remainder of next week, it will remain
dry with high temperatures moderating to above normal values as 
brisk westerly flow aloft allows a persistent lee low/surface 
trough to form across the western high plains. A system moving 
across the central plains could be a significant wind producer by 
next Friday.
