767 FXUS62 KJAX 070124 AFDJAX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Jacksonville FL 824 PM EST Sun Jan 6 2019 ...PATCHY DENSE FOG MONDAY MORNING... .UPDATE... With clear skies and high pressure centered over the Southeast, temperatures are quickly cooling this evening from the upper 60s and lower 70s observed this afternoon into the lower to mid 50s. Dewpoint temperatures generally in the mid 40s across the area and that is where the low temperatures are expected to settle. While mostly clear to start the evening, fog will develop along the I-95 corridor overnight and slowly spread westward with light onshore winds. Patchy dense fog is also expected to develop for the morning commute, especially around the I-95 and US-301 corridors. Fog is expected to dissipate between 9-10 AM. For the rest of Monday, high pressure remains over the area, but low level moisture will allow for some remnant stratocumulus during the late morning and early afternoon. Partly cloudy skies for the afternoon with high temperatures reaching the low 70s for SE Georgia and mid 70s across north-central Florida. && .AVIATION... VFR conditions expected through midnight. Radiation fog to develop overnight around 05-06Z with locally dense fog possible for all TAF sites from 09-13Z. Marine stratocumulus could keep MVFR ceiling through late morning but confidence is low on the density of the cloud cover. VFR conditions then expected for tomorrow afternoon with light winds. && .MARINE... No headlines across the waters through Tuesday. A dry cold front will sweep across the waters Tuesday bringing a brief period of SCA conditions to the offshore waters late Wednesday into early Thursday. Winds veer to the northeast to east and decrease some towards the end of the week as a weak coastal trough develops. Rip Currents: Low risk expected through Monday. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
