Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands
National Weather Service San Juan PR
348 AM AST Mon Dec 31 2018

Fair weather was observed overnight and this morning, but
scattered showers were observed across the outer Atlantic waters.
Overnight low temperatures were near the upper 60s to the lower
70s. Strong east to northeast of 10 to 15 kts with high gusts
continue during the overnight hours, and is expected to prevail
through late Tuesday. Today's high temperatures will rise to the
lower to middle 80s.

A drier weather pattern is forecast to continue through late
Tuesday with an occasional scattered shower possible mainly across
the coastal regions of Puerto Rico. Then moisture is expected to
move in underneath the surface ridge early Wednesday, thus
increasing rain chances.

Across the regional waters, seas are still hazardous and a small
craft advisory continues in effect for most of the local waters.
Winds will remain at 15 to 20 knots with occasional gusts and wave
heights will range from 5 to 8 feet. A moderate or high risk of
rip currents remains for most of the local beaches.
