844 AWCA82 TJSJ 152140 RWSPR Weather Summary for Puerto Rico National Weather Service San Juan PR 540 PM AST Mon Oct 15 2018 Mostly cloudy skies prevailed over Puerto Rico through the day. Showers and thunderstorms were observed in the morning and early afternoon across eastern Puerto Rico, while southwestern Puerto Rico observed a few showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The estimated rainfall totals across these sectors were mainly between 1 and 3 inches. The daytime maximum temperatures were in the low to mid 80s across the lower elevations and in the mid to upper 70s across the higher elevations. The tropical wave that affected the local islands today is moving away, but deep moisture will linger over the local area for the next few days. For tonight, mostly fair weather is expected with brief moments of isolated to scattered light showers, then Tuesday afternoon should have another round of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours, across eastern Puerto Rico in the early afternoon and across southwestern Puerto Rico in the mid to late afternoon hours. A tropical wave will move in and increase the chances for showers and thunderstorms over the local area by Wednesday. Drier air moves by Thursday afternoon but diurnally induced afternoon convection is expected over the western sections of the island. Across the regional waters, seas up to 6 feet are expected mainly across the Caribbean and Atlantic waters, elsewhere seas should be up to 5 feet.
