Otherwise conditions were breezy, and hot and humid. Mid afternoon temperatures were in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Little change in the weather pattern is expected over the next few days. Southerly flow will continue to bring hot and humid air to the region. An active storm track will remain in place from Iowa into northern Illinois, where strong to severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall will be possible. Some of the storms could reach as far south as central Illinois, through Tuesday. Low temperatures tonight will drop into the 70s for much of the Midwest. Highs on Labor Day will range from the upper 70s in northern Iowa, to the lower 90s in southern Illinois. $$
