Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tulsa OK
1147 PM CDT Tue Jun 26 2018

.AVIATION...
CONCERNING TAF SITES KTUL/KRVS/KBVO/KMLC/KXNA/KFYV/KFSM/KROG.
A few showers and perhaps a thunderstorm may affect northeast
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas during the first few hours of the
forecast period. Otherwise, VFR conditions will prevail.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 924 PM CDT Tue Jun 26 2018/

..UPDATE...

DISCUSSION...
Widespread convection over southern KS has been slow to develop
southward, and has yet to develop an organized cold pool. KOUN 00z
sounding sampled the increasingly warming mid level temps which
have advected over the region and the warmest of these temps have
served as a good proxy for marking the edge of storm development
today. As such, will continue to confine overnight precip chances
to areas nearest the Oklahoma Kansas border and diminishing
quickly with southward extent. Any severe risk is likely to be
isolated at best given the lack of organized cold pool and the
increasing inhibition with sunset. Other forecast update was to
cool overnight low temps over far NE OK and NW AR from the rain
cooled airmass of the afternoon storms.
