Current grids remain on track. High/mid-level cloud cover continues to slowly thin and this trend is expected to continue. No updates are anticipated to the text or tabular forecast products at this time. 20 PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 720 PM EDT Tue Jun 5 2018/ SHORT TERM /Tonight through Wednesday Night/... Dry weather is expected to continue through the short term. The dry airmass over the area is expected to stay in place even with a short wave moving SE out of the lower MS river valley and into Northern FL by Wed morning. Surface high pressure will continue to settle into the southeast keeping the low-mid level skies clear with some scattered cirrus in the upper levels. Low temps will continue in he 60s to near 70 with high temps in the upper 80s to near 90. 01 LONG TERM /Thursday through Tuesday/... No major changes needed to the extended portion of the forecast. The CWFA should remain under the influence of high pressure through the weekend, but a frontal passage is expected early next week. Prolonged surface winds off of the Atlantic will help increase low level moisture through the weekend, but the chances for pops should remain AOB 30 percent for most areas. Precip chances really begin to increase late Sunday into early Monday as a cold front approaches from the north. This boundary is expected to move through the remainder of the forecast area on Tuesday. At this time, the highest pops will be for Monday and Tuesday of next week.
