Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service San Angelo TX
239 PM CDT Sun May 20 2018

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Monday)

The majority of the shower and thunderstorm activity from earlier
this morning has dissipated or moved out of the area. A few
lingering showers may still be possible this afternoon across the
Interstate 10 corridor. Then for this evening, conditions will
finally dry out with minimal activity expected. Additional rain
chances will return to the forecast for mid morning on Monday.
Otherwise, temperatures will be a touch warmer for tomorrow in the
mid 80s. Low temperatures for tonight should be in the mid 60s.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday Night through next Sunday)

A trough over Southern California will continue to bring southwest
flow aloft over the region Monday Night/Tuesday Morning, and
models show a short-wave trough moving up through northwest Texas
during that time. This short-wave will help spark convection
along and ahead of the dry-line in far west Texas Monday
afternoon/evening, with the chance that some of those
showers/thunderstorms could make it to our western counties late
Monday night/early Tuesday morning, although chances appear slim
at the moment.

An upper level ridge will build over West Central Texas Tuesday
through Friday, bringing a warming trend and drier weather due to
increased subsidence, with just slight chances for showers over
extreme western and northern portions of the forecast area. Highs
on Tuesday in the upper 80s will increase to the upper 80s/low 90s
on Wednesday, then the low 90s on Thursday, mid 90s on Friday, and
up to the upper 90s on Saturday. Precipitation chances increase
Saturday night into Sunday as a weak cold front moves down from
the north. This cold front will only lower high temperatures a
few degrees on Sunday.
