474 FXUS65 KFGZ 211004 AFDFGZ Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ 304 AM MST Sat Apr 21 2018 .SYNOPSIS...Warmer temperatures, lighter winds, and mostly dry conditions can be expected through at least the middle of next week. && .DISCUSSION...A period of quiet weather is in store for northern Arizona over the next several days. Temperatures will be around 5 degrees above normal today then warming to around 10 degrees above normal from Sunday into much of next week. A weak disturbance will bring a slight chance of showers to the White Mountains on Sunday, but otherwise expect a dry weekend. Typical spring afternoon breezes will occur next week, but this will be a much lighter wind regime than we have experienced over the past week or so. With the warm daytime temperatures and some limited boundary layer moisture, there will likely be some afternoon cloud buildups over high terrain especially Wednesday through Friday. There remains a slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms for the high terrain of Apache County including the White Mountains Wednesday through Friday. && .AVIATION...For the 12Z package...Expect VFR conditions across northern Arizona for the next 24 hrs. Winds will be light and variable through the morning becoming north to northeast at 5 to 10 kts with gusts 15 to 20 kts north of the Mogollon Rim after 18z. Aviation discussion not updated for TAF amendments. && .FIRE WEATHER...Temperatures warm Saturday under light north to northeasterly flow. Sunday a weak disturbance will bring a chance for showers over the White Mountains and light southwesterly winds. Monday through Wednesday...Warm and dry conditions are expected through the midweek with typical spring afternoon breezes.
