791 AWCA82 TJSJ 052201 RWSPR Weather Summary for Puerto Rico National Weather Service San Juan PR 601 PM AST Thu Apr 5 2018 Showers and thunderstorms developed during the afternoon hours across the Cordillera Central of Puerto Rico. Between 1 to 2 inches of rain were reported with the heaviest showers. Maximum temperatures were in the mid 80s along the coastal areas. The wind was mainly from the east at 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts and sea breeze variations. Showers will continue through the evening hours across portions of the interior and western Puerto Rico. For the rest of the overnight hours a few passing showers are possible across the smaller islands and portions of eastern Puerto Rico. Diurnally induced afternoon showers with possible isolated thunderstorm development is expected on Friday afternoon across the interior and western sections of Puerto Rico. Tranquil marine conditions will continue to prevail today with seas of 4 feet or less and east winds up to 15 knots. A moderate risk of rip currents will continue along the northern beaches of Puerto Rico through the upcoming weekend. $$ This product is issued around 5 AM and 5 PM each day and weather conditions may change between issuances.
