This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
521 FXUS62 KKEY 221851 AFDKEY Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Key West FL 251 PM EDT Thu Mar 22 2018 .DISCUSSION... Under mostly sunny skies, temperatures in the Florida Keys are in the upper 60s to near 70. Winds have moderated to a small degree, especially along the islands and points northward. KBYX Doppler radar has not had a single echo, even at very long distances, all day. The latest cycle of the GFS and ECMWF suggest not making any large changes to the gridded weather elements for this forecast. A large area of high surface pressure will continue to expand across the southeastern states tonight and Friday. The high will weaken to a small degree from late Friday through the weekend, and another large area of high pressure will reach southward over the eastern seaboard early next week. Temperatures will remain on the cool side in the near term, then moderate through the weekend as the high pressure centered to our north turns the flow into the easterly direction. Will keep each period of the entire forecast free from a mention of measurable precipitation, at least for one more cycle. && .MARINE... Winds have dropped off a little in Florida Bay and nearshore Gulf waters adjacent to the Middle and Lower Keys this afternoon. However, expect these winds to surge again through late this evening and into early Friday morning. On that account, will re- headline those areas with a small craft advisory, making it headlined for all marine zones overnight. Winds should begin to moderate in all marine zones through late Friday morning, then settle into a moderate mainly easterly direction into the weekend. Those moderate winds will continue early next week, then surge again from the northeast to east late Monday/early Tuesday as high pressure intensifies down the eastern seaboard. && .AVIATION... VFR and diminished northerly breezes will prevail at the EYW and MTH terminals through the remainder of the afternoon. Crosswinds will return to the terminals after 06Z as another density surge exits South Florida. Crosswinds will abate at both terminals after 15Z Friday morning. && .CLIMATE... March 22, on this date in Key West climate history, in 1996, the daily record low temperature of 53F was recorded. For comparison, the low temperature this morning at our office in Key West was 64. Temperature records in Key West date back to 1872. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS... Key West 60 72 65 76 / - - - - Marathon 59 73 65 77 / - - - - && .KEY WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... FL...None.
