Early morning temperatures were fairly typical for mid July, although a touch below normal north. Readings heading toward daybreak varied from the lower to middle 50s north to near 70 southeast with light north to northeast wind. The weather will change little through the weekend with only minor chances for showers or thunderstorms across the immediate Upper Mississippi Valley Saturday Night or Sunday. Otherwise seasonal temperatures and humidities can be expected. Heat and muggy conditions will return early next week however with highs across the region from the upper 80s to middle 90s starting Tuesday. $$ Small
