A slow moving storm system will move eastward across the southern Plains today. This will result in increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms across much of the area. Increased clouds and areas of rain will keep highs below normal for much of the area. Afternoon highs are expected to range from the mid 70s over western Kansas to the mid 80s across northeast Kansas. Showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast for much of the area tonight with the highest probabilities across southern Kansas. Low temperatures will range from the mid 50s over northwest Kansas to the mid 60s across much of south central Kansas. $$
