...The flood warning continues for the Illinois Rivers..
  
  at La Grange Lock and Dam
  at Meredosia
  at Valley City
  at Hardin

.This Flood Warning is a result of heavy rainfall that occurred 
over last weekend and between 3 and 4 inches forecast in the next 
72 hours...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even 
higher than predicted.  The National Weather Service will monitor 
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as 
conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles 
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe 
passage.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Illinois River at La Grange LD
* until further notice.
* At  8:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 25.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 29.3 feet next Tuesday morning.
  Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact:  At 29.5 feet...La Grange Lock Road (County Road 1730N) is 
  flooded just north of the Lock and Dam.
* Impact:  At 28.8 feet...County Road 500N south of La Grange is 
  closed due to flooding.
* Impact:  At 24.0 feet...Extensive wetland acreage south of La Grange
  begins flooding.
* Impact:  At 23.0 feet...Adjacent farmland and wetlands begins 
  flooding.  Island Road across the river in western Cass County 
  begins flooding.
* Impact:  At 20.5 feet...The lock wall is completely overtopped.
* Impact:  At 16.5 feet...The earthen part of the dam is overtopped.
* Impact:  At 5.6 feet...At and below this height, barge traffic will 
  need to consider lowering tonnage to avoid grounding.

* until further notice.
* At  9:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 19.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 23.5 feet next Monday morning. 
  Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact:  At 24.0 feet...Kochs Lane east of Shady Acres begins 
  flooding.
* Impact:  At 23.0 feet...Flood fighting activities begin at Big Swan 
  Lake and Dam.
* Impact:  At 22.4 feet...Meredosia Lake Road overtopped.
* Impact:  At 22.2 feet...Low roads in Florence overtopped.
* Impact:  At 22.0 feet...Cargill Company in Florence begins flood 
  fighting activities.  Also, unloading operations are shut down at 
  the Ameren power plant.
* Impact:  At 21.0 feet...Chambers Road south of Naples floods at 
  Mauvaise Terre Creek near this level.
* Impact:  At 20.0 feet...Beach Road just north of Shady Acres floods 
  near this height.
* Impact:  At 18.0 feet...City of Meredosia plugs storm sewer outlets.
* Impact:  At 17.4 feet...Meredosia boat dock floods.
* Impact:  At 13.0 feet...Sunset Beach Road begins flooding about two 
  miles north of Meredosia near this level.
* Impact:  At 1.0 feet...At and below this height, barge traffic will 
  need to consider lowering tonnage to avoid grounding.

* At  9:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 18.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 22.0 feet next Monday evening. 
  Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact:  At 22.5 feet...Bottom of 365th Avenue (gravel road - 2650N)
  becomes flooded.
* Impact:  At 21.5 feet...Commercial Building is flooded on Railroad 
  Street (or County Highway 21).
* Impact:  At 14.0 feet...The road to Norbut Fish and Wildlife area is
  flooded.
* Impact:  At 0.9 feet...At and below this height, barge traffic will 
  need to consider lowering tonnage to avoid grounding.

* At  9:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 33.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 33.5 feet Thursday morning.
* Impact:  At 34.0 feet...Route 100 is flooded north of Hardin.  
  Jersey County Grain Company utility buildings begin flooding.
* Impact:  At 33.8 feet...Route 96 is overtopped in Kampsville.  The 
  Kampsville Fire Department begins flooding.
* Impact:  At 33.0 feet...River Road in Bedford is overtopped.  In 
  Kampsville, the intersection of Illinois 100 and Illinois 96 floods
  near this height.
* Impact:  At 32.7 feet...Kampsville Inn begins flooding near this 
  level.
* Impact:  At 32.6 feet...In Kampsville, an open-sided pavillion at 
  the south end of 2nd Street, nearby restrooms, and businesses along
  Broadway near Highway 96 begin flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 32.5 feet...The parking lot of the Barefoot Restaurant 
  in Hardin begins flooding near this level.
* Impact:  At 32.3 feet...The sales office at Hurley Dodge in Hardin 
  begins flooding.
* Impact:  At 32.2 feet...Cottages along South Park Street in south 
  Hardin begin flooding near this level.
* Impact:  At 32.0 feet...Water Street in Hardin begins flooding near 
  John F. Kennedy Street.
* Impact:  At 31.8 feet...The Brussels ferry service is interrupted.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...The River Road in Bedford becomes flooded.
* Impact:  At 25.0 feet...Flood Stage.  Lowland flooding of 
  unprotected agricultural land begins.
* Impact:  At 18.2 feet...At and below this height, barge traffic will
  need to consider lowering tonnage to avoid grounding.
