  Meramec River near Arnold

.This Flood Warning is a result of very heavy rainfall the past
few days and less than a tenth of an inch forecast in the next 
24 hours...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even 
higher than predicted.  The National Weather Service will monitor 
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as 
conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles 
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe 
passage.

* At 10:00 PM Sunday the stage was 28.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Record flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to continue falling to below flood stage by 
  late Wednesday morning.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...The front porch of the office at Lucky 
  Clover campgrounds begins flooding.

* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Record flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 36.6 feet by Monday morning, 
  then fall below flood stage Thursday early afternoon.
* Impact:  At 29.0 feet...The main office at the Arapaho Campground 
  begins flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Meramec River at Pacific
* until Saturday afternoon.
* At 10:00 PM Sunday the stage was 21.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 32.7 feet by Wednesday morning,
  then fall below flood stage Friday afternoon.
* Impact:  At 32.8 feet...Near this height, Interstate 44 may close in
  both directions east of mile marker 254.0.  This occurred during 
  the December 2015 flood.
* Impact:  At 32.7 feet...Backwater from Calvey Creek will force the 
  closure of Missouri State Route O east of Robertsville near this 
  height.
* Impact:  At 31.0 feet...Railroad tracks begin to flood.  This did 
  not happen in 2015 as water 
* Impact:  At 29.7 feet...The clubhouse at the St. Louis Skeet and 
  Trap Club begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 29.5 feet...Near this height, the Graphic Packaging 
  International Company begins flooding at Denton Road and Jefferson 
  Street.
* Impact:  At 28.9 feet...The Olympic Shooting Facility at the St. 
  Louis Skeet and Trap Club is flooded.
* Impact:  At 28.8 feet...Route 66 (Missouri Route O) is closed in 
  both directions from just east of Pacific to Six Flags Road in 
  Allenton.
* Impact:  At 27.5 feet...East Osage Street (Route 66) is closed.
* Impact:  At 27.2 feet...Missouri State Route O west of Robertsville 
  State Park begins flooding near this level.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...20 to 30 residences become subject to 
  flooding.  Major flooding begins.
* Impact:  At 26.0 feet...Highways F & O begin to flood, cutting off 
  access to Pacific from the south.
* Impact:  At 25.5 feet...Denton Road from the Industrial Park south 
  is closed.
* Impact:  At 25.0 feet...East Congress between Columbus and Olive are
  flooded in City of Pacific.
* Impact:  At 24.4 feet...Highway F & O at Brush Creeks is flooded and
  closed.
* Impact:  At 23.5 feet...Water begins flooding the grounds at the St.
  Louis Skeet and Trap Club east of Pacific.
* Impact:  At 23.0 feet...The lift station property at East Congress 
  and Elm Street begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 22.6 feet...Four houses near the gage begin to flood at 
  this stage.
* Impact:  At 22.0 feet...Jefferson Street extension is flooded and 
  closed.  Dogpound at the east end of East Congress Street begins to
  flood.

* until Sunday May 7.
* At 10:00 PM Sunday the stage was 29.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 44.9 feet by early Wednesday 
  morning, then fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
* Impact:  At 45.3 feet...The Legion Park Community Center will begin 
  flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 45.0 feet...Three businesses along Truitt Drive, 
  Earthbound Recycling Center, J.M. Mersheutz Construction, and 
  Sellenriek Grading, begin flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 44.5 feet...The intersection of Highway 109 with 
  highways W and FF will begin flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 44.0 feet...Cotton's Ace Hardware between South Central 
  Avenue and Highway 109 begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 43.5 feet...Near this height, floodwaters will reach the
  top of the rim around the wastewater treatment plant lagoon.
* Impact:  At 43.0 feet...Near this height, numerous businesses along 
  Central Avenue in old town Eureka, Rockwood Bank, and the sewage 
  treatment plant will begin flooding.
* Impact:  At 42.8 feet...Missouri State Route 109 in the older 
  business section of Eureka is closed near this height.
* Impact:  At 42.0 feet...Missouri State Route 109 near Old State Road
  is flooded and closed near this height.  Also, Lions Park ball 
  fields will begin flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 41.5 feet...Near this height, floodwaters will reach the
  floors of the utility buildings at the wastewater treatment plant, 
  including the generator shelter.
* Impact:  At 40.2 feet...Highway 109 at Eureka Senior High School is 
  closed.
* Impact:  At 40.0 feet...The right bank begins to overflow.
* Impact:  At 35.0 feet...Lighthouse Storage property begins to flood.
  Shelters and roads within Route 66 State Park are also flooded at 
  this level.
* Impact:  At 34.0 feet...Numerous homes on West Spring River Ranch 
  Road begin flooding at or slightly above this level.
* Impact:  At 32.5 feet...At this height, about 12 houses on Willman 
  Road start flooding the main floors.  On the river's north side, 
  another 8 homes along West Spring River Ranch Road begin flooding.

  the Meramec River at Valley Park
* until Monday May 8.
* At 10:00 PM Sunday the stage was 24.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 43.7 feet by Wednesday morning,
  then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning.
* Impact:  At 44.0 feet...This represents the level at which, with no 
  additional protection, the Valley Park levee would be overtopped at
  the upper end of the flood wall.
* Impact:  At 38.8 feet...Interstate 44 is closed near this height.  
  During the December 2015 flood, this highway was closed from Bowles
  Avenue in Valley Park west to Missouri Route 109 exit in Eureka.
* Impact:  At 38.3 feet...Near this height, Missouri Route 30 (Gravois
  Road) must be closed in both directions in St. Louis County.
* Impact:  At 38.0 feet...Railroad bridge just downstream of the 
  Highway 141 bridge begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 37.8 feet...MODOT must take preventative action to keep 
  I-44 lanes open west of Highway 141.
* Impact:  At 36.0 feet...Water begins covering the BNSF rails at this
  height.
* Impact:  At 35.0 feet...The final flood gate through the BNSF 
  railroad path is closed at this height.
* Impact:  At 34.0 feet...Close Gravois Road at Ware Street and at 
  Water Street.  This impact level may vary depending the crest 
  difference of the Mississippi River at St. Louis from 30.8 ft, the 
  March 2008 crest.
* Impact:  At 33.0 feet...Old Highway 141 is closed at Gravois Road 
  and at Gravois Bluffs Blvd.  This impact level may vary depending 
  on the crest difference of the Mississippi River at St. Louis from 
  30.8 ft, the March 2008 crest.
* Impact:  At 30.0 feet...Allen Road at Old Highway 141 is closed.  
  This impact level may vary depending the crest difference of the 
  Mississippi River at St. Louis from 30.8 ft, the March 2008 crest.
* Impact:  At 29.0 feet...The intersection of 141 and North Highway 
  drive at I-44 is closed above this level.  In Fenton, the following
  roads are closed at this level:  all of Yarnell Road, Riverside 
  Drive at Wolfner Drive, Fabricator Drive at Headland Drive, Soccer 
  Park Road at the truck stop, Rudder Road at Fabick Drive, and 
  Larkin Williams Road at Ferry Street.
* Impact:  At 28.7 feet...The southbound lanes of Highway 141 at I-44 
  will be closed near this height.
* Impact:  At 28.0 feet...The flood gate at Vance Road in Valley Park 
  is closed at this height.
* Impact:  At 27.5 feet...The northbound lanes of Highway 141 at I-44 
  will be closed near this height.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...The flood gate at St. Louis Avenue in Valley
  Park is closed at this height.
* Impact:  At 25.0 feet...Major flooding begins.  At this level, 
  houses along Rock Alva Drive (next to Tapawingo Golf Club) start to
  flood.  Also, Fenton Greenway Park is flooded.

* Impact:  At 43.9 feet...Crest of the "Dioxin Contaminated Flood" 
  from Times Beach in December, 1982.
* Impact:  At 43.5 feet...Missouri Highway 141 near Springdale Park 
  and Hilltop Drive will close near this height.
* Impact:  At 43.0 feet...Keystone Court walk-out basements and patios
  in south Fenton begin flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 42.9 feet...Missouri Route 21, also known as Tesson 
  Ferry Road, is closed near this height.
* Impact:  At 42.5 feet...Water enters the office trailer at Wilson 
  Towing and Auto Sales.
* Impact:  At 40.0 feet...Winter Valley Drive walk-out basements in 
  south Fenton start flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 39.5 feet...The houses along Convair Drive in Arnold 
  begin flooding.
* Impact:  At 37.4 feet...Homes on Countryside Circle, Eljon Drive, 
  Babbs Lane, and Lavernal Lane begin flooding.
* Impact:  At 36.5 feet...Houses on Cool Valley Drive east of Highway 
  141 begin flooding.  In Arnold, the corner of Convair Drive and 
  Douglas Drive begins flooding.
* Impact:  At 36.4 feet...In South County, New Baumgartner Road near 
  the Mattese Creek bridge southwest of Heintz Road begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 35.1 feet...Intersection of Romaine Creek Road and Old 
  Missouri 141 begins flooding.
* Impact:  At 35.0 feet...A tavern near Highway 141 and Hilltop Drive 
  begins flooding.  Also, Covered Bridge RV Park and Storage begins 
  flooding near this height east of Highway 141.
* Impact:  At 34.5 feet...Widman Park along Telegraph Road begins 
  flooding near this height.  Also, Meramec Bottom Road floods near 
  Quail Creek Golf Club.
* Impact:  At 33.0 feet...Springdale Park floods at this height.

* Impact:  At 30.3 feet...The porch of the upstream left bank 
  residence floods at this level.
* Impact:  At 29.6 feet...The main floor at the Byrnesville mill 
  begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 29.4 feet...The floor of the gage shed begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 28.0 feet...At this height, several homes along Burgan 
  Grove Road are flooded.

* Impact:  At 29.7 feet...Floor level at McDonald's at East Main and 
  Highway 47 North begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 29.6 feet...Phillips 66 at East Main and Highway 47 
  North floods at floor level.
* Impact:  At 29.2 feet...Shades of Gold salon and the video store on 
  U.S. Highway 50 begin to flood.
* Impact:  At 28.9 feet...Mistler's Oak Furniture on Missouri Highway 
  47 begins to flood from Fenton Creek backwater.
* Impact:  At 26.9 feet...Parking lot at Mistlers Oak Furniture begins
  to flood.
* Impact:  At 26.6 feet...Dickie-Bub True Value Farm and Home begins 
  to flood at floor level.
* Impact:  At 26.4 feet...The Dollar General store begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 25.6 feet...Water enters the lift station behind Dollar 
  General store.
* Impact:  At 25.2 feet...State Highway AT floods near the 
  intersection with State Highway O near the I-44 bridge over the 
  Bourbeuse River.
* Impact:  At 24.5 feet...Water begins flooding the streets and 
  property of the Bourbeuse Camp Trailer Park at Missouri Highway AT 
  and U.S. Highway 50.
* Impact:  At 24.2 feet...Water enters the upper floor at Crystal Ice 
  and Fuel.  Also, North Bend Loop Road south of Union begins 
  flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 23.6 feet...Lower floor of Crystal Ice and Fuel begin to
  flood.
* Impact:  At 23.5 feet...Parking lot at East Main Street and East 
  State Street is covered.
* Impact:  At 23.4 feet...East Main Street is closed.
* Impact:  At 23.0 feet...Old Rock Road begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 22.5 feet...Water begins covering East Main Street.
* Impact:  At 22.3 feet...The lower quarter of the parking lot at the 
  Dollar General and True Value stores is flooded.
* Impact:  At 21.9 feet...Water begins covering Old County Farm Road.
* Impact:  At 21.0 feet...Near this height, water begins covering 
  Highway O between Highway AM and American Inn Road.
